Tallow candle context/background:
Our ancestors traditionally used beef tallow and other animal fats to make candles, but these materials fell out of use with the introduction of newer waxes like paraffin, soy, and palm—which unfortunately have significant environmental and health impacts.
Tallow is made from suet: the dense, white fat located around a cow’s kidneys and loins. Today, suet is often discarded due to low demand. We’re proud to offer a sustainable, zero-waste product that gives this valuable resource new life—while also supporting local farmers and beekeepers.
